While I agree that this chapter had a heavy spy thriller vibe in general (as it should be when the story is taking place at the Monaco Royale!), panel 2 reminds me very much of this scene from Catch Me If You Can. (A movie about a very resourceful conman.)

As Microraptor alludes to above, one of Augustus Alexander’s few blind spots is in extremis female executives. On two previous occasions he has utterly misread what they’re capable of. One cost him what should have been an easy corporate takeover, the other cost him the use of his legs.
