there might be more influential readers, but there aren't very many of them. when you "boost" a comic into Popular Now, especially the more obscure one, it gets them the attention they deserve. Keep up the influencing!

if there's widespread nepotism, does that result in a stronger social bond to suppress that sort of unwanted behavior? because hitting on a disinterested stranger is bad and gross, but hitting on your cousin is double bad + gross
